Morning Light presents Day 24 of our on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway.  Today, “Model of Workmen, Pray for Us.”  Lucifer hates work which is why he initiated his attack on the human family in the workplace - the garden God gave Adam & Eve to tend.  Jesus did manual labor for many years before beginning his public ministry.  Why?  Because he wanted to sanctify work and teach us that it's honorable and pleasing to God.  This doesn’t mean we should become work-aholoics - there must always be time for recreation, rest and worship.

Morning Light presents Day 23 of our on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway.  Today, “Lover of Poverty, Pray for Us.”  St. Joseph was unpretentious in the eyes of the world.  He had no worldly ambition or desire for recognition.  When they returned to Nazareth, the Holy Family lived for almost 30 years in a house that was simple and small.  The person who is detached from material things is truly blessed in spirit and rich in the sight of God which explains why Joseph is called “Lover of Poverty.”

Morning Light presents Day 20 of our on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway.  Today, “Joseph Most Obedient, Pray for Us.”  St. Joseph is a model of obedience.  Obedience requires trust.  Lack of trust on the part of our first parents, Adam & Eve, is what caused mankind to fall into sin.  Our new parents, Mary & Joseph, trusted God and were willing to suffer for their obedience to God.  They were certain that God had their best interests in mind.  Everyone needs to be obedient to both natural and divine law and of course everyone should also trust and obey God.

Donald Calloway.  Today, “Joseph Most Courageous, Pray for Us.”  St. Joseph lived entirely for love of Jesus Christ and, after Mary, is Jesus’ most faithful disciple.  It takes courage to be a faithful disciple of Jesus.  Many are willing to follow when it’s pleasant but not when things become difficult or filled with sorrow.  Joseph was always faithful, always courageous.  He feared nothing other than offending God and exercised tremendous fortitude in his protection of Jesus and Mary.

Morning Light presents Day 18 of our on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr.      Day 15 of Morning Light's on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr.      Day 13 of Morning Light's on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway.  Today, “Foster Father of the Son of God.”  Christians use many terms to describe the fatherhood of St. Joseph.  And while none of those titles are found in the New Testament, they’re all legitimate ways of describing him - but “foster father” is most common.  In ancient Jewish custom, the legal responsibility of naming a child belonged to the father.  St. Joseph’s role of naming the Savior is meant to signify to the world that he is the legal father of Jesus.

Morning Light presents Day 6 of our on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway.  The Holy Trinity is a family, a Holy Family.  They want you to be a member of that family.  To make this happen, they have established a replica on earth consisting of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.  Membership in this family will prepare you for membership in God’s eternal family in heaven.

Day 5 of Morning Light's on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway.  Today, “God the Holy Spirit, Have Mercy on Us.”  The Holy Spirit wants you to know and love St. Joseph.  With the exception of Our Lady’s life, the Holy Spirit was more active in the life of St. Joseph than in any other saint.  Joseph’s docility to the Holy Spirit made it possible for him to communicate with God even while her slept!

Donald Calloway.  Today, “God the Son, Redeemer of the World, Have Mercy on Us.”  In the earliest 18th century, St. Louis de Montfort wrote his book “True Devotion to Mary,” which only mentions St. Joseph a few times.  Why is that?  Didn’t he love St. Joseph too?

Morning Light presents Day 3 of our on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway.  Today, “God, the Father of Heaven, Have Mercy on Us.”  God the Father loved us SO much that he sent His only Son into the world - not only to save us...but to make us a child of God.  That’s why you were created - the very purpose for which you exist.  And there is only one way to the Father - Jesus Christ - as it says in John 14:6.

O dearest St. Joseph, we consecrate ourselves to your honor and give ourselves to you, that you may always be my father, my protector, and my guide in the way of salvation.  Obtain for me a great purity of heart and a fervent love of the interior life.  After your example, may we perform all of our actions for the greater glory of God, in union with the Divine Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary!  O Blessed St. Joseph, pray for us.
