Finally, what aspects of your life need Mary’s gifts of grace and mercy right now? Through her maternal intercession, ask for those gifts.

Or, do you believe as Pope John Paul II believed - “in the designs of Providence, there are no mere coincidences.”  Finally, the Pope entrusted the who world to Mary’s Immaculate Heart in 1984 and to Divine Mercy in 2002. How does your trust in Mary reflect your trust in the love and mercy of Jesus?

   "Faith & Feasts" is a weekly segment of Morning Light hosted by Teresa Zepeda.  This is part 2 of our look at Lenten practices and focuses on fasting.

Questions for Day 21:  Mother Teresa urges you to “be the one” - what might Mary say to you to help you better understand the thirst of Jesus?  God the Holy Spirit names himself Consoler or Comforter - whom do you console in your personal relationships? How do you do it?  If your consolation is refused, how does that make you feel? Finally, Mother Teresa said the greatest evil is “lack of love and charity.”  Who needs your love to avoid loneliness? How often do you express your love of Jesus directly to Him?

   John Keenan & Mike Turner from the Idaho Lay Dominicans make their weekly visit to Morning Light - this week to discuss grace and merit.

   Chef Lou Aaron, Owner of the Westside Drive In and Deacon at Our Lady of the Rosary, talks about hyssop in this edition of "Cooking With Scripture" on Morning Light.  We see it mentioned in the Bible but what is it exactly and what can you use for in the kitchen?

   Tammy Emmerich, Principal of St. Mary's Catholic School in Boise, stops by Morning Light to share all of the wonderful things going on, including a new pre-school opening in the fall and their Spanish Literacy Program.

Finally, choose two of your duties to Mary - ones that are significant to you or will really challenge you.

   "Catholic Book Club" is a segment heard every other Friday during Morning Light.  In this episode, Alanna Burg talks about her book "Preparing for Peace: A Catholic Lenten Journal for Women with Anxiety."  Alanna hosts a Catholic podcast called “Liturgy Live.”  She is also Chief Event Manager of a Catholic website and most importantly - a wife and mother!

   During the weekly Marriage & Family Life segment of Morning Light, Chris Jones talks about the annual Idaho Family Camp event in Cascade that attracts around 50 Catholic families for a weekend of faith and camping

   "Music for the Soul" is Jaime Thietten's segment of Morning Light where she highlights newer renditions of older hymns.  This weekend's Responsorial Psalm is Psalm 91 so we feature "On Eagles Wings" by Catholic artist, Kitty Cleveland.

It is between you and Jesus alone inside.”  What is your understanding of this as a Catholic?

Questions for Day 7:  We must depend on supernatural help for bearing our crosses in life.  Do you have a list of crosses? How have you asked for supernatural help up to now?  We’ve heard the term “offer it up” for another person or some special intention.  How will this Marian consecration help with this aspect of your spiritual efforts?  Finally, “security” - we look for it everywhere: alarms for our homes and vehicles, online passwords, monitoring our credit cards, and so on.  Those protect physical life - what about Marian consecration gives you the most comfort and security?

Day 3 questions:  Mary gave her whole life to doing God’s will and continues to do so from Heaven.  Ask yourself - “To what, if anything, have I given myself fully in the past?” Do we know what it means to “give myself fully”? St. Louis de Montfort says our Baptism is the most significant day of our lives.  Can you name some other significant days in your life? What relationships are reflected in those days?  Why does our relationship with God make our baptismal day so important? Finally, the humility of Mary humbles Satan even more than the divine power.  Are we ready to imitate Mary’s humility? Which of our friends or family do we find it the easiest to be humble?

Questions for Day 2:  In order for Mary, along with the Holy Spirit, to bring us to Jesus...we need to let go of always trying to do everything ourselves.  What is the first thing that you need to become detached from? Will it be difficult to detach? Will it take time? St. Pope John Paul II read St. Louis’ book “True Devotion to Mary” and called it a decisive turning point in his life.  What one or two books (besides the Bible) have had that kind of influence on your life?  Finally, no less than six Popes were influenced by the teachings of St. Louis de Montfort.  If you had your choice of someone to influence, who would it be and why?

   Gina Schmidt fills in for Jay Wonacott today on Morning Light.  February is "Heart Health Month" and Gina has more important tips to take care of your heart, including diet & exercise, emotional health and shares a patron saint that can intercede for us.
