   Giving Tuesday is the 27th and the Diocese of Boise presents the #iGiveCatholic campaign.  How can people donate to their favorite ministries?  What do we need here at Salt & Light Catholic Radio?

   "Catholic Counseling" is a weekly segment of Morning Light and features a panel of experts who help Catholics maintain good mental health.  Kathy Edwards stops in to share the topic:  Value People Over Things - a perfect conversation to have before the hectic holiday season of buying more "stuff" rather than appreciate the people in our lives.

   "Knights News" is a weekly segment on Morning Light and features members of the Knights of Columbus across southern Idaho.  Brian Simer talks today about the 10th annual Coats For Kids drive.  Knights Councils from both the Treasure and Magic Valleys will give out hundreds of coats to kids in need this weekend, just in time for the winter weather right around the corner!

   Morning Light has a studio full of Idaho Lay Dominicans!  David Charnock, Mike Turner and John Keenan talk about Liturgical Prayer on the program.  Can we carve out at least 20-minutes to begin our day in prayer?

   "Cooking with Scripture" is a weekly segment on Morning Light with Chef Lou Aaron from Westside Drive-In.  Today, he prepares a delicious walnut bread topped with honey, Greek yogurt and fresh fig jelly.  The fig has many meanings in Scripture - tune in and find our more about this versatile fruit from Biblical times.

   With the weekly focus on Catholic education, Morning Light welcomes Tony Quilici to the show.  Tony is the Principal of St. Joseph's Catholic School, located next door to St. John's Cathedral.

   Another representative from Bishop Kelly High School pays a visit to Morning Light.  This week, we discuss spiritual formation with Lorissa Horn, the school's campus minister.  From preparing class retreats to helping students set-up and tear-down the monthly all-school Masses, she is a very busy lady at BK.

   We kick-off a "Marvelous Monday" edition of Morning Light with a call from Brad Hahn, CEO of Solidarity Health Share.  With open enrollment upon us, Brad offers a great alternative for Catholics when it comes to paying for healthcare.  

   With the #iGiveCatholic campaign on November 27th, St. Pius X parish is planning on using their funds towards a mission in Honduras.  Dcn. Chris Stewart is a guest on Morning Light to explain more about it and sharing some information about himself as well.

   As we shine the spotlight on our seminarians at Mt. Angel, Alberto Jaramillo is a guest on Morning Light, sharing a typical day in their lives on campus.  In the future, Alberto will interview other seminarians during this segment.

   Morning Light sits down once again with Doug Alles, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Idaho to discuss poverty and the Church's role in helping the marginalized.  Hope you studied - today, a pop quiz on how much we actually know about poverty.

   "Man Cave" is a weekly segment during Morning Light hosted by Pat King and Josh Dickson.  In this edition, we discuss the topic - how do men grieve?  Josh's grandmother recently passed away and he shares the emotions he's experienced the past few days.

   During this week's pro-life segment of Morning Light, we bring in Tina Kierce from A New Beginning Adoption Agency along with Megan Bryant a birth mom who recently reunited with the daughter she gave up for adoption almost 20 years ago.  Learn more about how adoption is a better option to abortion by listening to Megan's touching story.

   November is dedicated to praying for all souls - Teresa Zepeda joins Morning Light for "Faith & Feasts."  How do we pray for the souls of our loved ones and how can we celebrate them during the upcoming holidays?

   Christian Welp from the Diocese of Boise joins Morning Light to share news regarding the Idaho Catholic Network.  This group was recently formed to give the Catholic Church a local voice in our State Legislature.  Who makes up the Network?  How can we help in the upcoming session?

   During this week's "Catholic Counseling" segment of Morning Light, Pete Espil (via webcam) shares topics regarding youth counseling and issues our teens face in today's culture.

   "Knights News" is a weekly segment on Morning Light where Brian & Whitni talk with a local representative from the Knights of Columbus.  Today, they speak with John Pettinger who currently serves as District Master.

   Today during "Cooking With Scripture," Chef Lou Aaron assembles the ingredients needed to make fresh homemade Caesar Salad Dressing right in the Morning Light studio!  

   Each Monday morning, the second half-hour of Morning Light will be dedicated to Catholic education.  The first part of that is St. Nicholas Catholic School in Rupert.  We chat with Principal Wes Remaley on the phone about the school's philosophy and how they strive to provide a high-quality Christian education to their students K-6.  St. Nicholas School is also a qualified ministry during the #iGiveCatholic campaign on November 27th.  Find out ways you can financially support the school during our interview with Mr. Remaley.

   Each Monday morning, the second half-hour of Morning Light will be dedicated to Catholic education.  Our final segment is with Principal Mike Caldwell from Bishop Kelly High School.  There have been a lot of new and exciting changes at BK this school year.  From the opening of a new science and tech wing to a new bell schedule to new staff members, Mr. Caldwell touches upon what's new for the Knights.

   Monday's edition of Morning Light opens with a segment called "Weekend Re-cap."  Part of that piece today is an interview with Major League relief pitcher Cody Allen, who was a keynote speaker at the David's Hope Fall Banquet in Meridian this past Saturday night.  Learn about the loss and healing experienced by Cody and his wife, Mallory.

   The #iGiveCatholic campaign is coming up on November 27th, a day known as Giving Tuesday.  In our "Getting to Know Us" segment of Morning Light, we invite Marc Schlegel to help us get to know Corpus Christi House, a day shelter in Boise.  Learn about the amazing work they do with our homeless and find out how you can help them financially on the 27th.

   Another close game against the Falcons!  Bishop Kelly capitalized on a couple of Vallivue turnovers en route to a 34-27 victory in the 4A State Semi-Final.  The Knights will now face...the KNIGHTS (Hillcrest High School) for the title.

   "The Coaching Educator" - Rebecca M. Carroll - stops by Morning Light to share a bunch of silly letters and acronyms such as EFC and FAFSA.  However, these are important forms and your high school students need them filled out to qualify for grants and scholarships to college.

   David O'Neill is with Bengal Catholics on the campus of Idaho State University.  On his way to Boise this weekend for the YACC, he talks to "Morning Light" via cell phone about all the wonderful ministry work going on in Pocatello.  November 27th is the #iGiveCatholic campaign and David shares some of the ways you can help the St. John Catholic Student Center with your donation.

"Morning Light" is our new live, local morning show on the Salt & Light Radio Network.  Our very first guest is Donna Gordon, Principal of St. Mark's Catholic School in Boise.  Mrs. Gordon reflects upon the recent dinner/auction fundraiser, the new catechesis program, altar projects for All Souls Day, and shares a touching story of how students rallied around an injured classmate.

"Morning Light" is our new live, local morning show on the Salt & Light Radio Network.  Among our first guests, Rich Raimondi, President of Bishop Kelly High School in Boise.  Topics include the Winner's Choice Gala, results from the first quarter of school, and new changes to the theology department.

The Knights get some revenge from last year with a hard-fought win over the Skyline Grizzlies.  BK capitalized on turnovers to scratch out a 35-21 victory in this 4A quarter-final.  Bishop Kelly will face Vallivue in the semi-final next.

   Recorded November 1st at 9:30am, this is the All School Mass from Bishop Kelly High School's Carley Center with Fr. Vogel as celebrant.  This Mass recognizes All Saints Day.

     MADE FOR MORE is the Catholic Radio Show for Teens.  This edition wraps up the 6-part series on the acronym H.A.B.I.T.S.  The letter S stands for "Sacraments."  The first Sacrament that comes to mind for Catholic teens is Confirmation.  But don't forget about confession, going to Mass, prayer and more to help live your faith out to others.
