From Cornerstone Psychological Associates in Boise, Morning Light welcomes back Dr. Kathy Edwards…here today to talk about communication skills. Have you ever heard of “true, necessary, and kind.” How do we assert our needs in this world but still make sure we are not being aggressive or rude or unkind? Here are some Scripture passages to help you out: James 1:19 - Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. Ephesians 4:29 - Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Proverbs 18:13 - To answer before listening – that is folly and shame. Proverbs 18:2 - Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions. Proverbs 12:18 - The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
