Morning Light presents Day 18 of our on-air Consecration to St. Joseph, following the book by Fr. Donald Calloway. Today, “Saint Joseph Most Prudent.” What is prudence (besides a song by the Beatles)? In modern times, many people consider it to be a vice or a flaw. In moral matters, they are quite often called a prude. However, prudence is a virtue - the Catechism defines it as the virtue that disposes practical reason to discern our true good in every circumstance and to choose the right means of achieving it. Without prudence, a person will be either too lenient or too harsh.
